Sony Ericsson P800

A swedish-japanese phone, made in france. Has a huge touch-screen with a keaypad that flips over the screen, a camera, a memory stick duo slot and a 3.6 1000 mAh Li-po battery. Still works too, if you don't mind not being able to make phone calls.

Main unit, plastic back cover, touchscreen pen, memory card and Li-po battery.

Removing the 4 T-8 screws is no problem but separating the two pieces of  plastic shell was tricky. Top picture is the camera, the metal plate is the slot for the memory stick duo. Below that to the right is the white plastic connector for the touchscreen. The camera is a Yamaichi IC-305-035. To the right of the camera there is a button, this is the button used when you push the scroll wheel towards you (different functions can be acessed by either pushing, pulling or pressing the wheel).

Back cover, right is earphone jack, scroll wheel, and vibrator (green). Top: connector for antenna Left: ringtone speaker. Bottom: microphone

< Other side of  the board, has a protective cover. I imagine that at the frequiencies these phones work at good shielding is essential.

> Protective cover removed. The big chip on the bottom slightly to the right is the ARM OM6380ET CPU. It has the ericsson logo on it. To the left of it is the HYE25L128160AC-8, made by infineon. It contains 16 MB of DRAM.

Above that the two chips are both 28F128K3 chips from intel. These are StrataFlash memory, made for wireless devices. Besides having flash storage, these chips are programmed with an id number by intel, and also has a second one-time programmable section for use by the device manufacturer (Sony Ericsson in this case). I suspect that this is where the IMEI number is stored.

The touch screen display. A major flaw with this model is that closing the plastic flip-keypad over time causes big scratches on the display.
